Using proper restraint on animals is crucial for maintaining cleanliness and safety during procedures. When handling animals, especially in a veterinary or grooming setting, proper restraint techniques help keep both the animal and the handler safe from injury. This can minimize stress for the animal and reduce the risk of accidents, such as scratches, bites, or sudden movements that could disrupt a procedure. Additionally, proper restraint ensures that the animal remains in a position where veterinary procedures, grooming, or examinations can be performed effectively, which contributes to overall hygiene and safety in the environment.

While preventing bites and achieving easy transport are certainly important aspects of animal handling, the primary focus in professional settings is on cleanliness and safety during procedures to facilitate quality care and ensure the well-being of both the animals and the personnel involved.
